Who is Taylor Jenkins Reid?

     I recently read (and loved) The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Anytime I really enjoy a certain book, I like to discover other books written by that author and see if any of them interest me. I also like to learn a little bit about the author, just because I find it interesting. Today, I will be doing a short profile post on Taylor Jenkins Reid. 

     Reid has written a total of seven books so far, with her eighth book (Carrie Soto is Back) set to be published on August 30, 2022. Her first book (Forever, Interrupted) was published in 2013 and since then she has released a new book almost every year (2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2021). 

     I read an article from USA Today, which was an interview with Taylor Jenkins Reid, and learned some interesting characteristics about her. I will link the article here if you want to check it out. Reid mentioned that she sets deadlines for herself as part of her writing process, and that she is very strict with them, even though there is no consequence for breaking them, she sticks to them. I think this is very admirable. She also mentioned that her career path hasn't been exactly linear, she didn't go straight from college to being an author. Something that she often tells people (especially college grads) is that, "you have time to figure this out, and the universe will guide you." As a college grad myself, who is struggling to figure out what to do after graduation, this was refreshing to hear. From the article I also learned that Reid is married and has a daughter. 

     One of her books (Daisy Jones & The Six) is actually on my list of books that I want to read, but I did not realize she was the author! Now I'm even more excited to read it. I found it interesting to get a little glimpse into her life, and I hope that you did too. Thanks for reading!
